The Gate

A popular destination in Newcastle, The Gate is an entertainment hub with several restaurants, bars, a multiplex cinema, and a casino it makes for a great night out all within one building.

Outside The Gate is the striking glass sculpture named Ellipsis Eclipses, designed by American sculpture artists Danny Lane. This sets you up for the kind of spectacle within the large glass fronted building.

The ground floor is host to several restaurants, bars and a night club. Enjoy world cuisine at the Za Za Bazaar, or have some American style dining at the TGI Fridays. On the first floor are several more restaurants including the recently opened Handmade Burger Co, and the more traditional fare of Pizza Hut and Nandos. To the rear of the first floor is Aspers Casino. The casino sports, alongside the expected gaming tables, a restaurant and bar and could quite happily fill in a whole night of entertainment by itself.

If you’re not quite the gambling type then on the top and final floor of The Gate is the Empire cinema, which has several large screens for current blockbuster hits, and “studio screens” for a more smaller experience showing older classics and extended runs.

Whatever kind of nightlife you prefer The Gate has something for everyone.
