The Great North Run – Back for another year!

The Great North Run is back this September on the 7th so come along and show your support!

The famous marathon which began in 1981 has spanned from 12,000 runners to a record of 56,000 in 2013.

Participants will begin the course in Newcastle which then takes them over the famous Tyne Bridge, through Gateshead then will finally finish at South Shields. All the while they are motivated by thousands of enthusiastic supports, live music and refreshments.

The Bupa Great North Run has made itself an iconic part of the North East and has changed the lives of many. In 2013 we saw runners from 40 countries taking part and many run to support charities that they hold very close to themselves.
