The Theatre Royal, Newcastle upon Tyne


The theatre was opened in February 1837 and the Grade I listed Theatre remains one of the most historic, cultural landmarks in the country.

It is one of the most famous theatres in the UK and during its 170 year history has had some of the biggest names in dance, drama,music and comedy
perform there. Over a year it presents over 380 performances to over 300,000 people.

The building itself is beautiful classic theatre with a large stage, well tiered and comfortable seating. It recently under went a six month restoration
where Seats were made more comfortable, more space and legroom added, and all lighting, air conditioning and technical facilities upgraded.

For most productions the tickets are very reasonable priced and good value for money and they also cover you for free travel on the tyneside metro two
hours before and two hours after the performance. There is an adjoining bar which has real character and is nice place to relax during the interval but
try to reserve your drinks and a table in advance as it can get very busy.
