With so many exciting places to visit and fun things to take part in over the summer, you won’t be left wondering what you can do. Here’s how you can make the most of the summer in the North East.
Whilst there are plenty of things going on in the North East, some costing a small fee, families especially will appreciate the free activities on offer this summer.
If you are looking to make the most of the summer weather, why not take advantage of a free trip to one of the many parks, such as Jesmond Dene which is conveniently located right in the heart of Newcastle. Go for a walk, a bike ride or take a picnic before visiting some of the cute critters in Pets Corner.
For a slice of culture, why not visit one of the many free museums that the North East has to offer. From the Great North Museum to the Discovery Museum, Newcastle and the surrounding areas has plenty to offer adults and children alike.
Rain, Rain Go Away
If the traditional British weather is anything to go by, your outdoor plans may not always be accommodated. There are plenty of indoor activities to entertain the whole family, from a trip to Infinite Air trampoline park, Karting North East or the Blue Reef Aquarium, you will be spoilt for choice.
However, sometimes the best memories come from splashing in puddles and running in the rain. Whilst it is still advisable to keep the suncream and sunhats handy, you should also invest in a mac to prevent the weather from spoiling your day.
It won’t be long before the whole family are back to their normal routines, so make the most of the summer with a fun-fuelled, adventure-packed break that everyone will love. Just make sure you enjoy a well-earned rest, in amongst all of the action too.
