As you enter the museum you are greeted by the ‘Turbinia’ ship. This is a 35 metre vessel and was once the fastest ship in the world and you can discover her history in full with the interactive display at the Discovery Museum. The museum has lots of information on the North East’s most famous inventors including Charles Parsons and William Armstrong, in fact there’s a little bit of everything for everyone, whether you be young or old.
